Go Green - Keep Clean!

My (new) washing machine ate my favorite blouse. I was going to toss it, but then thought it could be used for something.....so it became, an apron!

St. Patrick's Day Gold

Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone. Here's some green goodies around our house (just to scratch the surface...)

A wreath made by Annie.

And then there's the gold....Maggie brought home a gold medal in the speech category of the Academic Decathlon. Beat them all - even the St. Ignatius boys!

She brought home five medals in all.

It's been a good couple of weeks....Joey won a few prizes at the science fair, including first place from IEEE and some cash! Even though he was worried a science fair was only for geeks, I think he elevated geek to GQ!

Remote Control

I have supreme control over the remote. I will always be able to find it. It will never get dropped on the floor and broken. The batteries will never fall out. There will never be any arguing over what tv show to watch, who gets the foot rest, the pillows, the throw, ....

The Last of It.

We went outside today for a last ice skate. We thought it was "so warm" because it was 32 degrees outside. Why? Because the weather lately has been cold, dark, and gross. This morning it was like 5 degrees outside. Thankfully it warmed up a lot. This is probably the last time we will skate due to all the cracks we made. We had a lot of fun and just skated. And of course we had fun making some cracks too. We didn't get to skate that long. We lasted about 25 minutes outside, because there was so much water flooding us. So we skated and laughed, hoping it will be the LAST of winter. We are so sick of winter, for once. Though we still have to go through March, but hopefully it won't be that bad. But the thing we enjoyed the most today was the sun. It was finally out. We were ecstatic.

March of Denial

Shortly after Christmas, I cranked out these hats to meet the bitter weather that we were soon to meet in a Northeast Ohio January. The recipients were thrilled with the hats and wore them diligently. Now that it's March and we've experienced one or two warm days, there has been a collective sigh, no scream, "We are sick of winter." So, despite the 20 degree weather that faced us this morning, the hats remained at the bottom of their bins, and we headed out, hatless, shivering, and in denial of winter.
